IFS + Mindbody Group
Description
All (Painful) Parts Are Welcome:
Connect with and transform your chronic symptoms
This six-week series combines the latest pain science research with evidence-based Internal Family Systems (IFS). IFS is a safe and gentle psychotherapy modality developed in 1990 by Richard Schwartz to address eating disorders and is applicable to other chronic conditions. Current research into psychophysiological disorders shows the clear mindbody connection to chronic symptoms and points to the value of psychotherapeutic approaches such as IFS.
Participants will develop an experiential understanding of their chronic physical symptoms from the perspective of IFS parts and, in the process, learn to address these parts with the curiosity and compassion that leads to recovery.
Each session will offer brief information on relevant neuroscience; IFS therapy demonstration and practice; in-class exercises for participants to apply their learning; time for Q&A; and close with a gentle movement awareness practice.
