This course is for those who already understand that their symptoms are a mindbody condition (referred to variously as stress-induced illness, neural pathway or neuroplastic pain, TMS, psychosomatic or psychophysiologic symptoms). Students should understand the basics of current pain science and have already ruled out any serious or life-threatening illness with their medical providers.
Using the framework of Internal Family Systems, each session will focus on one of the eight facets of Self Energy (the 8 C's of IFS). By exploring evocative illustrations of each facet of Self, students can cultivate resiliency and enhance their process of inner healing.
Class sessions include learning materials, group discussion, guided visualization, and writing exercises. Sessions will also include a gentle somatic practice (Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® Lesson).
